Samuel Poole Mar 1867 Chorlton vol 8c p 256

does not give a mother's maiden name so it was either illegible or, more likely, it was an illegitimate birth therefore unlikely the father's name will ever be known, unless the mother took out a Bastardy Order against him.

According to the Manchester Birth Register he was born in the Withington Union Workhouse and no father's name is given.
