Isabella Barclay born c 1820

Hello,

I am researching Isabella Barclay, daughter of William Barclay.

In 1837 in Dundee, Isabella Barclay of this parish, daughter of William Barclay married George Simson a forger.  According to the 1841 census, when they were in Northumberland, with two daughters, Janet and Hannah, Isabella was 20 and George was 25.  George is shown as a shingle of iron born out of county.

Isabella and George went on to have three children, Janet about 1837 possibly in Dundee although census from 1871 onwards say Dumbarton, Hannah in 1840 in Northumberland and Thomas in 1844 in Durham. Isabella died, some time between the birth of Thomas in 1844 and 1848 when George remarried to Susannah Duffie in Durham. 

I have found various Barclay families in Dundee but no trace of Isabella's birth.  If anyone can help me find out more about her parents I would be very grateful.

Thank you for that, I have got them as possible parents - and some additional info re. a possible burial of Isabella Barclay (wife of George Simpson) age 29 in 1848, born Leuchars but living in Dundee  makes it seem even more likely.
