Solidrock I put that information into Ancestry and several possibilities came up that looked right for dates but still can't find the right documents for Margaret. She doesn't seem to exist at all except on her children's birth entries.

Going by the birth date on the 1841 this is the nearest entry on FreeReg...

Margaret Cockburn. baptised 24 Jun 1770, St John the Baptist, Newcastle upon Tyne.
father James,  mother Dorothy.

Margaret Cockburn. baptised 20 Mar 1768, Innerwick Parish Church, Innerwick, East Lothian.
father Robert Cockburn,  mother Agnes Thomson.  Witnesses John Ker and Peter Thomson.

Baring in mind her first child was Agnes this seems a possibilty.

You have'nt said where Thomas White was born. You also seem to be relying a lot on Ancestry, maybe not a good idea if you are looking at other peoples tree's.

This was posted in another thread by Forfarian it shows the number of BDM recorded in the OPR West Linton is on p122 it will give you an idea of the likelihood of finding records It maybe that your ancestors records either weren't recorded or haven't survived

Thank-you for all the help so far. Solidrock I look in the BDM's and census records in Ancestry. I do know that other tree's aren't always reliable.
