Help required-surname Dabell.
« on: Thursday 25 January 18 14:09 GMT (UK) »
Hi
I am researching my partner’s family surname Dabell.
I started with William Samuel Banks Dabell and have all his details, his father was William Johnson Dabell bap 7/5/1833 Bunny d1910.
It seems he married an Annie Smith, although on another census she is down as Eveline Annie.
Another generation back is William Dabell c1800-1833 ,he ran a pub.His wife was Rebecca Banks, she remarried John Bannister.
I need to find whether there is a connection with him to another publican called William Dabell b1777
To simplify I am trying to find the parents of William Dabell 1800-1833.
I have become stuck on this generation.
All the above were from Nottingham and most in the St Mary’s district.
Thanks

Thanks to all , yes I’ve seen the war records. The strange thing is that on the 1901 census William Samuel Banks Dabell has his mother living with him and she is called Eveline ,which is very odd.
I think finding the surname Johnson would help with possibly the parents of William the victualler.
