Margaret Christina Morrissey

good  evening friends.. i am hoping for some help.    Margaret  Christina  Morrissey was  born in Limerick abt 1879. From what  i can make out she went to USA..... As i found her daughter on 1911 census aged  8 having been born in America.. living with her grandparents mother  and father  not  there.. neither  are they with her on her journey from  usa to liverpool  in 1906.   the daughter is Virginia Lynch.  i dont seem to be able  to find a travel record  for  Margaret Morrisey going to usa  would appreciate  any help.... also i am not really sure whether she  married Mr  Lynch in Ireland  or Usa...  many thanks

Hi a couple of departures for possibly Margaret:-

Maggie Morrisey 22 Single occ Servant 26th August 1900 Queenstown to NY on Vessel Campania

Margt Morrisey 24 Single occ Servant 20th June 1902 Liverpool to NY on Vessel Celtic.

thankyou  more likely to be  the 1900 one..  she had  a baby in 1903  .. by then a LYNCH

You can view the New York passenger lists from that time frame at https://www.libertyellisfoundation.org/ with a free account.  Looking at the image should help you to determine if she was yours.

The 1900 passenger list says that her last residence was Lismore and she was going to join a cousin Mr. Herdling, 810 Amsterdam Ave., New York, New York.

Is Margaret in the 1901 census?  That may narrow the time frame down.

hi  they are the correct  people i have the census  and the birth cert and yes  virginias birth  in usa.... think  this one i wont solve.. thankyou

Do you have a birth record or more specific birth location for Virginia?  Are there any further records for her in Ireland that may contain a father's name or place of birth?  Is there any later sign of Margaret?

Don't give up too quickly, as this definitely seems to me like it could be solved.
