Tongue or Tong is a new discovery - from a handwritten note done by an ancestor which reads Tongue adapted or adopted to Price . I have had my DNA done about 15 months ago and not had any price connections however when I have looked at my DNA matches I have 4 or more 4th cousin or more matches to people who have Tong or Tongue in their tree which is why I think it is likely.

I was told that Albert had no brothers or sisters and was born in Kington area . I cant find Albert Tongue after 1891 which again may be a pointer . I have sent off for the birth certificate of Susan Tongue who is again shown as a granddaughter born 1872 to see if any clues there

Hi

Susan Tong(e) born 1872 also had a daughter 'Gertie' in the last available census I can see her in.

She is 'married' to a Charles Davies - although I can't find a marriage at all to check her parentage, the couple had five children of which three were registered with mothers maiden surname of Tong(ue)
The couple were living in the Kings Norton registration District.

Thanks Claire, that may have been the one that caught my eye.  It’s a bit of a way away but the tongue family are really hard to fathom, with children living with grandparents whose real parents are a mystery.
