Gribble family from Crediton, Devon

Hi
I am looking for the Gribble family who lived in Crediton, Devon. I have looked on ancestry and family search and there are many Gribbles! I don't have much information...I am looking for parents of a man called Charles Gribble, he was born in 1888 and lived in Chippenham (Wiltshire), his parents and family are from Crediton, although I don't have their names. So, other than guessing, can anyone offer suggestions as to what I can do/look for?

There is this family in the 1891 census:

Thomas Gribble Hd  1854   Shoe Maker
Mary Ann Gribble  1856
Emma Gribble  1877  Apprentice Shoe Fitter
John Gribble 1879
Alice Gribble 1883
Charlie Gribble  1886
Walter Gribble 1890

all born Devon although Crediton specified for Charlie.  All living Stanbury Court, High Street, Crediton, Devon.

So this could be your Charles with birthdate slightly out.

Newspaper obituary Wiltshire Times and Trowbridge Advertiser 24 July 1937
Charles Gribble a native of Crediton, Devon died age 49.  Worked for the Co-op.......

GRO Reference: 1886  M Quarter in CREDITON  Volume 05B  Page 412   

So his mother's maiden name was Cross.

Thank you for your replies!

Yes, he married Kate Smith in 1913 in Chippenham. I think he was born in Chippenham. This is the only information I have from a family member. She said that she knows that his family are from Crediton, but she couldn't give any names. Ideally I need to find a census or birth certificate with his name on and his parents' names. Thank you for all your help.

Yes, he died in 1937.
