Teagle Cutter

Can anyone enlighten me as to what a 'teagle cutter' did?  I assume it was something to do with weaving and that it was probably done by juniors.  Any ideas would be much appreciated

Teagle or Teazel?

I see Teazel Cutter as an occupation in the 1841 Census.

In old script a lower case Z in one of its forms, can resemble a lower case G having a tail below the script line and this frequently being looped.

Oopsie 

Many people cannot read my lower case F.

Very pretty with a loop top and bottom, like a little sideways bow.
I just can't break the habit of that formation
