Back to basics!

Where did you find that James's parents were a Henry and Susan(nah)?  Was it from info that James had given in New Zealand or was it from the tree that I referred to?
There are too many assumptions in the tree for it to be fully reliable.

On his marriage and death cert in NZ ,and it also said Henry was a fisherman

The Henry Lewis who is quoted on the tree is in Pwllheli, Caernarfonshire in 1851 -
HO109/2513/331/35

Henry Lewis, widower, 32, fisherman
Mary Ann, d,7
David,s, 4
Catherine,d, 1

All born Pwllheli.

He is next door to a possible mother, Ann, who is on the 1841 at
HO109/1392/3/28/7

Can't find a GRO registration or baptism for Catherine 1840 +/- 1 in Pwllheli.

Hi,
 A co-incidence, the Henry Lewis found in Suffolk in 1861 was also a fisherman!

James was 47 when he married Elisabeth she was 16 ,I think he must be hiding something

Have you got the various certs to hand?

It would be interesting to see just a snip of what he says about his parents and his birth in Bangor.
We can't put up the whole cert, but just a snip of them with the details would really help as the indexes I've looked at only have James and Elizabeth's names.
