Thanks. I didn't find anyone named John Drake born in Lincolnshire between 1635 and 1645 using FamilySearch.  The 1640 baptismal record I saw says English Bicknor, Gloucestershire.  I'm not sure how close Gloucestershire is to Lincolnshire.  I did notice the other names and assumed that Keal my be his brothers-in-law since Joseph Drake shares the same last time.

This was the closest information I found regarding the year in question (1640).

Name   ... DRACUS
Residence Place   Clee, Lincolnshire, England
Gender   Male
Christening Date   1638
Christening Date (Original)   10 JUN 1638
Christening Place   CLEE, LINCOLN, ENGLAND
Father's Name   Francis Dracus
Mother's Name   Sarah

They may be using BT's on FamilySearch.  BT's are sparse in the 1640's. There may also be disruption to the parish registers (indeed many disappeared)

If he was at Emmanuel then he should be in Alumni Cantabrigienses
Another brother named was Edward Tayler.
Edward Taylor married Ann Drake in Grantham in 1661, again might be a possibility. Can see the entry here

I went to the site which you sent me, but I cannot see anything even though my Adode Flash is working elsewhere.  More frustration.

I don't know where you live but do look at a map of the UK.  Lincolnshire and Gloucestershire are not exactly near neighbours!

I saw that as well.  I am going to confine my search to Gloucestershire at this point because I have seen any connection to Lincolnshire anywhere.

Are you disregarding jonw65's earlier post?  If he is correct re names in the will there may well be a Lincolnshire connection.

I'm not disregarding anything.  There might well be connection, but I said that I'm looking more at a Gloucestershire connection.  Who knows?  We might find there is a strong London connection at some point.

If there is a Lincolnshire connection, this might be the father of John Drake.  However, I wasn't sure if Drake and Drakes would be the same person:

Name   William Drakes
Residence Place   Gainsborough, Lincoln, England
Gender   Male
Christening Date   25 Sep 1603
Christening Date (Original)   25 Sep 1603
Christening Place   All Saints, Gainsborough, Lincoln, England
Father's Name   Edward Drakes

I have been thinking about this one.  Drake was quite a common name at that time.  Spellings varied a great deal according to the whim of the person writing it down.    The clues in the will are very important in trying to unravel this.  What did John and Jane call their children?  Often they are family names so might be grandparents.  I can see a burial in 1680 for their son William.
