Corbett and Rogers

I need help please to find my Sarah Corbett and Edward Rogers among the hundreds of people with the same names living in Staffordshire. Looking for their full birth dates and parents.As well as their marriage date.

Sarah Corbett born about 1832 in Tipton, Staffordshire. She emigrated to Durban, South Africa in 1861 with three children, Elizabeth, Annie Elzie, and Joseph or Josef. On the emigration paper they have Factory Bridge as part of her address.  Do not know her parents names. She died 1 Oct 1887 in Pretoria South Africa.
She was married to Edward Rogers born abt. 1823 England. He died in 1888 South Africa. on his death notice it has R. Rogers as his father. Edward emigrated in 1859 to Durban, South Africa.

A maiden name search on GRO online has a Joseph Rogers mmn Corbett  b September qtr 1857 Dudley 6c 29

1841 - 2 possibilities

Indexed as Corbell aged 10 - living in Tipton - parents James & Maria

Indexed as Corbitt aged 10 - living in Tipton - parents  Edward & Susanna

You would need to buy a copy of the 1852 marriage cert to establish her fathers name

The only male Rogers marriage with a female Corbett on the same page in Staffs is as shown above by Rosie

GRO maiden name search shows possible other children born to the couple who may have died in infancy

Could Sarah Corbett's husband be Edward Rodgers instead of Rogers. On her death notice it has her as Sarah Rodgers. Yet in her testament her name is written as Sarah Rogers without the d .
 And for him his death notice just says he was born in England, so that could be any where.

Her children, all I have is their approximate birth date from the passenger list.
Ann Rogers works out to 1853
Elizabeth Rogers to 1855
Joseph Rogers to 1857

Also on the passenger list with Sarah is a Thomas Corbett b. abt. 1841. I think he could be her brother.
To add to the confusion, on her emigration paper of applicants their is another person added under her name. Sarah Corbett b.abt. 1843 she could be another sister or the wife of Thomas. After Thomas's name it as occ. as Engineer.

Rosie, I did come across that marriage and wondering if it could be the people I am looking for. It works in with the children's birth dates.

I would not worry about variations in spelling, it was probably how the person writing it heard it pronounced.

When in 1861 did they leave England, did they all travel together

Edward Rogers came arrived in Durban, South Africa on the 24 May 1859 on the ship "Lady of the Lake" 2nd Voyage.  A Robert Rogers was his surety.

Sarah Rogers nee Corbett arrived in the Durban, South Africa on the 17 June 1861 on board the ship "Barbadoes" with her were her three children and Thomas Corbett.  Sureties for the family were Edward Rogers and Robert Rogers.

Later voyages of ships travelling England to S Africa indicate taking around 65 days which means they had probably left England by the 1861 census.
