Hi Tracy. welcome to Rootschat! :)

Here is the Cheshire Parish Register Project - from the University of Liverpool.
http://cprdb.csc.liv.ac.uk/

You need to click on 'database' on the left to start a search for somebody.

It can be a bit tricky to follow if you haven't used it before.
Pick birth, death or marriage.
Pick your parish - in this case I picked Cheadle.
When you get to a page with all the names on, for say, Ardern births, you'll see a list of 'dates'.
If you put a '1' in front of them all, you can see they run from 1756 to 1839 on the first page.
So there's a William baptised 1810. Click on the button next to his name in the 'Full' column to get all the information about him.
Not necessarily your William Ardern of course - just to show you how it works.  :)

Hi Tracy, welcome to Rootschat from me as well.

I find when using the Cheshire parish website that putting in the first  three or four letters of the surname will bring up all variations of that name.
I have an Arden ancestor, unfortunately not connected to yours, I found him transcribed on various records as Arden, Ardern, Arderne and even Hardern.

Hi again,

I have found a burial record for a Hannah Ardern she was buried in Disley 18 April 1837.
She was 23 years of age so would have only been 18 when Sarah was born and 16 when she married William but it is a possibility.
As Disley is not far from Cheadle it might be worth keeping this one in mind.
