Hi there I'm looking for information about the pound family like where they camed from and what they did for a living. The only information I have is my great nan Lydia ingarfield great aunt Elizabeth born Lee birth 1836 and death june 18 1903 she married to Thomas pounds August 17th 1858.
And apparently Elizabeth was a house servant some where around Ramsbury.
So I would love to no where the pounds family camed from and what they did for a living I did look up the history on the family Google but its a little confusing for me.
my great nan was born in willesden March 8th 1906 until her death in Stevenage Hertfordshire 1993

Back in the late 1960s / 1970's a Mrs Price lived in Pound Hall, she had an MGB car and as a boy scout I washed that car on Bob a Job. It is a lovely house with a court yard and outbuilding and is directly opposite the entrance to Melford Hall. The pound field between the house and old school is where various farm animals were impounded hence the name Pound Hall
