can't find after 1846 marriage in Lambeth
« on: Thursday 08 February 18 09:49 GMT (UK) »
I have Jane Witherspoon and George Everard marrying in Lambeth in 1846 but am unable to find them in any census after this.

Jane was born 1819 Middlesex according to 1841 census.

Unable to find George in 1841.

Marriage cert states he was an apothecary.

Can anyone locate them anywhere for me please.

Many thanks

Wendy.

Don’t forget that ages were rounded down in the 1841 census, Jane could have been anything from 20 to 24.

The person above  Jane was a Sarah EVERARD 40, not born in County, perhaps there is a connection there.

Jane's parents were married 1818 so don't think her age is too far out.

I'm sure there is a connection with the Sarah Everard as well in 1841 census.

I am not having any more success than you in searching the census. I will look a little further, then I must log off.

Thank you Colin, I never thought to look for a death for either of them, silly me.

Thanks again.

An on line tree has George born 1796 , the son of William Inns Everard ( as confirmed by his marriage certificate ). It suggests a possible death in Victoria , Australia in 1860 :

George Everard aged 63
Victoria
1860
father unknown
Reg number 5465

This mention in The Star ( Ballarat ) of 11 Jul 1860  refers to a George Everard , chemist , who died intestate and whose goods were to be sold.

One to keep in mind , perhaps.

Sorry , forgot the link !

The online tree refers to a family Bible . The tree lists several children of William Inns Everard all born in Gloucester. There is a baptism for George Everard 26 Jan 1797 at St Michael's, Gloucester.
There is another mention of a George Everard from Gloucester in The Argus, Melbourne of 27 Oct 1858 , asking him to come forward to hear something to his advantage :
