If it was Georgian, it should appear with residents, on all censuses.

You can search via addresses on Find My Past, but numbering, if there were numbers, may have changed. Is it the residents of this property through the ages that you are trying to trace, or the history of the building itself?

Are you willing to give the current address in case anyone can help? (I understand you may not wish to do so if it is your address)  :)

The address is 50 Mill Street. I have found local history says it was firs5 brick constructed house in 1713 so just pre Georgian.  Would like to find out  its occupants and usage from then .

There is no house numbering in Mill Street in the 1841, 1851 or 1861 censuses but there are landmarks to identify. Number 50 is next to the Guildhall and 2 doors away from the Blue Boar Inn at number 52. The Hop Pole was at number 53.

The landlord of The Blue Boar in 1841 and 1851 was John Davies. 2 doors away in 1841 was this household:

Abigail Hodges 55 Ind
Edmund Gill 20 Artist
William Gill 17 Artist
Mary Davies 43 Dressmaker
Jane Davies 20 Dressmaker
John Davies 6 months

By the same methodology, 2 doors away from the Blue Boar and next to the Guildhall in 1851 is this house with multiple occupancy:

John Russell 26 Bricklayer
Sarah 30
George 7 months
.......................
Elizabeth Meredith 44 staymaker
Mary A Stone 13 lodger
........................
John W Manders 27 solicitor's general clerk

For the  1861 census we get some help from this 1863 directory which tells us that John Davies, cowkeeper was at number 50: https://goo.gl/FHVCiQ

In the census he is:

John Davies 69 retired publican and proprietor of houses
Mary Davies 67 wife
Harriet Palmer 65 servant
William Teague 13 servant
Robert W Mole 32 lodger Wesleyan Minister Ludlow Chapel

For 1871, 1881 and 1891 you are looking for Mary Cook born circa 1824-1826. For later years look for her sister Fanney/Fanny Cooke.

Also see historic newspapers for:

- Mr Jones Finch (actor) resident at 50 Mill Street in 1892, advertising in the Era
- Very informative reports of a court case in October and November 1905 concerning a claimed historic right of way through Blue Boar yard to number 50, with testimony from several aged residents of Ludlow. (Ludlow Advertiser)

Brilliant. .. thank you so much.  I am guessing pre 1841 I have to go to parish records and local archives...  newspapers maybe ...
