That is brilliant stuff - explains the reason very well. John Edward Stephenson seems to have been a carpenter who did a lot of travelling for work, eg met his wife while working in Tuam, Co. Galway. My assumption was that the Stephenson's inherited the farm from Charles Lendrum. You may know already that both Corballyquill and Corbeagh were put up for sale in 1950/51.
