1870 Census St Louis Missouri
« on: Thursday 15 February 18 05:34 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to discover what became of John Wyatt bC1833 Glossop Derbyshire UK.
The 1870 Census for St Louis Missouri has a John Wyatt labourer from England together with his wife Ellen and two young children born Missouri.
Co-incidently the children are Ellen and Joseph , perhaps named after his parents.
Three of his brothers migrated to Australia but no indication that JW went there also.
JW was still in England 1859.

Perhaps a marriage record would help resolve if this is him.

With thanks
Wyatt and Wood of Glossop, Derbyshire. Longstaff of Bishop Auckland,Durham. Harry of St Austell and St Kew,Cornwall. Charters of County Antrim.Knight of Warwickshire.Hendy of Ballyedmonduff.

7 years younger than the one quoted.

My apologies.
It is Charles Wyatt bpt 7 Feb 1826 Glossop s/o Joseph and Ellen who I am looking for. He was a brother of John , Joseph and Thomas who came to Australia. Guessing he migrated elsewhere.

Back to the drawing board.
Sorry for the error.

Joseph Wyatt died 5 December 1873 he left a will probated 13 January 1874 at Derby, the administrator was his eldest son James.

A copy of the will could name his surviving children if it does they usually state where they are living
when he wrote the will.

Confirming it is Charles Wyatt bC1832 who I am trying to find.
He was at home Blackshaw aged 8 on 1841 Census.I cannot find his birth/Bpt or 1851 Census.
However he was referred to in a 1859 newspaper article so still about then.

Thanks
