Ursula Slade
« on: Saturday 17 February 18 16:10 GMT (UK) »
I have traced my Gt Grandmother Joyce Slade, born 1837 in Holmer Green, Little Missenden, back to Ursula Slade, who was born circa 1610 in Quainton.
Ursula had an illegitimate son, John Slade baptised in September 1637 at Quainton.
I’m now at a brick wall, as I haven’t been able to find any information on Ursula, absolutely nothing, other than the baptism of John.
Is anyone else researching this line of Slade’s and managed to break through the brick wall?

Your best friend will be BuckFHS, for a marriage, birth, or burial for Ursula.

Hi Steve,
Thank you for your reply and for the link.
I have the Buckinghamshire printouts for the name Slade & derivatives, from my initial research for this branch of my family, back in 2002 and Ursula is only mentioned the once.
Ursula was such an uncommon name, that she should be easy to find, illusive character 🙄
Thanks again,
Sandie.

I had a look in the Oxfordshire Marriage Index, as Quainton is close to the Oxfordshire County line.  No marriage in Oxfordshire for Ursula Slade, nor any Ursula as a widow.

At least you can rule out Oxfordshire. ;D

Goog luck, and good hunting.
