Hi Norma,
I'm directly related to Elisabeth Michie, Johns sister.  I'm not certain if its the same John though.  She had a brother Hugh, John and Walter, and a sister named Margaret.  Their father was Robert and mother was Margaret Ballantyne.
I have struggled with Johns genealogy as there are so many John's.
I can say that my branch came out to Australia in 1888....l think.
And that all the Michie's are related to two brothers who settled in the area post Jacobite rebellion.
Would love to chat....
Katrina
