Hello everyone, I've spent a LOT of time trying  to work out how to research and find funeral notices, etc. I am very confused on this and not getting anywhere. Any websites you can recommend.

I am sorry I am not experienced and if you could please give me the correct link so I can go to it would be GREATLY appreciated.

Hi Janice,
   If you are after UK newspaper death and funeral notices, you can obtain a library card from the National Library of Australia or your State library which will give you free access to a variety of UK newspapers.   Here is link to National Library e-resources https://www.nla.gov.au/app/eresources/

   If you are after Australian death and funeral notices up until 1955 (with some more recent), you can use trove https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/

   There is an advanced search in trove but I like to use the ~ feature (perhaps I am lazy  ).   If you search for
     "fred ryan"~10
then that will find occurrences of Fred and Ryan within 10 words.  This is quite useful for death notices where they have
RYAN, at his daughter's residence, Fred, blah blah and similar.

You can use any number depending what you are searching for.
    "fred ryan"~3
will find occurrences of fred and ryan within 3 words.

 Then just choose family notices and the state and decade from the side bar.

adding : If you are after more recent death notices in Australia, then your national or state library card will give you free access to some recent major newspapers.   The ryerson index http://ryersonindex.org/search.php gives an index of death and funeral notices.

Unlike USA and OZ,we're not big ones for putting funeral notices or obituaries in the papers,so you may not find them in the UK like you do in your country. Unless your family had lots of  money of course
