Samson or Sampson Milsom Bath, Somerset 1816-1879

Although Samson Milsom appears to be an unusual name, I’m having trouble identifying his parents. The marriage record shows his father as Isaac, but family trees on Ancestry all say Joseph Milsom amd Catherine Yealf. Then it comes to his wife, Elizabeth Wilson, who was either born in Bath or Newfoundland depending on which census you want to believe. It would be great if someone could throw some light on this for me. Many thanks.

I wouldn't take too much notice of Ancestry trees. They have their uses but have to be taken at face value.
It only takes 1 person to put up the wrong information which then gets copied by others.
If you have his marriage cert. & it says his father is Isaac then until you can prove otherwise you have to accept it's true.
Elizabeth appears to have been born in Newfoundland, the later census showing Bath I would suggest is just someone putting everybody down for convenience.
There were strong trading links between Bristol & Newfoundland.

Trial in Somerset for Sampson Milsom  16/7/1838 aged 21 , he was acquitted.

Elizabeth has no address given her father is John Wilson occ Shoemaker
