Hello again,

The address doesn't ring any bells. Maude's father was an ironmonger in Tottenham Court Road. After his death the family lived in Enfield and by 1911 Maude's mother was in South Byfleet. Maude had a lot of siblings though, I'll see if any were there. There could be a Fairweather connection of course that I wouldn't know.

Right so the Argentina connection started early on in the marriage and continued for at least more than 15 years. Also it seems they lived there for some time. Then Westcliff on Sea and then they pop their clogs in Canada nearly 40 years apart! If of course the information about their deaths is accurate.

Thank you again

Can't confirm Maude's death with the resources available to me. May I suggest that you post a request on the Canada board for her death.

Thank you - I completely for got to look there. Found Elaina's birth registration M1913 Rochford, which I gather from Google is 4 miles from Westcliff. My geography of the south-east is I'm ashames to say appalling.

I was just looking at Maude's siblings - I'm revisiting the Cluses after time elsewhere - and see that her sister Edith married an Alfred G Chapeau in 1912. I found him as a clerk in 1901 but couldn't find him in 1911. I also found an Alfred Chicheley Chapeau who was an artist and painted a picture of the way to Tottenham. The artist Chapeau died in Canada but is buried with the brother. I had wondered if Alfred C Chapeau and Alfred G were one and the same and so will be following it up but if he is the Canada connection is interesting.

Looks like I am going to have a lot more to ask on the Canadian boards.

Besides Edith, Maude had a brother Harry who died early 20s, a sister, Isobel, who was living with their widowed mother in 1911 and then 4 brothers Allen B, Edgar, Arthur B and Leonard J.

On Ancestry Canadian Site WW1 CEF Attestation Papers there's listed

Allen Bernard Clune (sic)
Edgar Cluse
Arthur Bertram Cluse
and Leonard John Cluse!

Will have to get my questions sorted but it looks as if most of thew family end up in Canada.

The last I knew of the Cluse boys they were apprentice drapers or at school.

If you go here:
http://search-collections.royalbcmuseum.bc.ca/Genealogy

and just type in CLUSE as last name...the brothers' deaths seem to pop up.
