Emily Myall/Myhill Browne c.1813 Grt. Yarmouth
« on: Wednesday 21 February 18 08:58 GMT (UK) »
Hello
I have  Emily Myhall/Mihill Browne bpt. 5 Nov.1813 St. Nicholas Grt Yarmouth who I believe is the daughter of a George Browne and Ann Millican? but apart from this information I cannot find anything else about her.
I'm wondering if she could be the Emily ( no other name known as no marriage found) who is the wife of Wm. Tillcock a wheelwright b. Ware Hertfordshire and living Thorpe Rd, Thorpe/East Wymer in 1851. This Emily said she was born at Marsham and is the right age.
1861-1871 they live  Green Hills Norwich St. Clements.
Any help re; Emily would be most appreciated.

Have you considered Amilea Soame baptised 31 May 1812 in Marsham.

Emily Soame married Benjamin Grix 11 May 1829 at St Peters Mancroft (Norwich)

Benjamin and Emily had children baptised in Marsham and Benjamin was buried 22 May 1837 age 42 in Marsham

I have not found anything more about the widowed Emily Grix, so I am not sure where she has gone, maybe with William Tillcock ;)

Many thanks The Yokel, I hadn't come across these people but it looks as though Emily could be a distinct possibility. I will now  try and find what became of her and her children if only for elimination.

Back to the drawing board. It appears that Emily Soames who married Benjamin Grix is not my lady. Benjamin and Emily are still together in 1851, he died 1859, and my Emily was living with Wm Tillcock in Thorpe/East Wymer at that time.
Thanks again The Yokel.

Hi solidrock and thank you for taking an interest. It could be her I guess but I've discovered so many Emily Brown/e's born around that time unless I can find a marriage for them ( so far no sign) it looks as though I have hit the proverbial brick wall bigtime.
I do know William would have been a widower as his wife died early 1850 Hertfordshire and in 1851 William along with Emily 38 and his daughter Jane from prev. marriage lived Thorpe/East Wymer as previously stated, but having tried allsorts of variations on names I cannot find a marriage, maybe there wasn't one.
Jane died Sept.1852.
Many thanks again.
