Marriage of Joseph Scotney/Mary Key is on FreeREG
She is easy to find 1851/1861 Census, not at Home but a Servant. 1841 at Home with Parents in Upwood.

Your welcome Margaret.

I have followed all the James Whatfords and variations of that name born Hunts c 1820-1824 in the 1841-1871 Census's.

I keep coming back to this one;

1841 Census
Perry, Graffham, Hunts
Ann Wadford, 45
Jemima Wadford, 20
JAMES Wadford, 18, Ag Lab****
Isac Wadford, 15, Ag Lab
Elizabeth Wadford, 12
Mary Wadford, 8
William Wadford, 6
Ann and Jemima are not born in County*

From Census your James is born;
1901 Bury
1891 Graffham
1881 Perry
1871 Graffham
Havent confirmed 1861/1851 for him yet.

I followed Jemima;

1851 Census
William Ainsworth, 31
Jemima Ainsworth, 31, born Colsden, Bedfordshire
Eliza Ainsworth, 6
Frederick Ainsworth, 4
George Ainsworth, 6 mths
Emma Watford, 23, Sister, born St Neots, Huntingdonshire
John Watford, 1

JEMIMA Watford  Baptised 4 Sep 1820, Roxton, Bedford to JOHN/ANN

1851 Census Ann/William are Servants in the Blott Household in Midloe, Hunts;
William Wathand, 19, Servant, born Gt Staughton
Ann Watford, 66, Washerwoman, born Bedford, Bedfordshire

I have no idea if this is correct but one to keep in mind.
