Jane Buckland born 1821 in Burnham, Bucks is one of my relations, so I've been looking for her husband and any children.

It seems that this is the wrong George Boxall. There are a lot of people with this name, and they were nearly all born in Sussex, with a few in Surrey.

One likely candidate is George Boxall baptised 3 March 1822, Brighton, Sussex. His father was Edward Boxall which tallies with the name on Jane Buckland's marriage certificate. His mother was Elizabeth.

I shall see what I can discover about him.

Thank you for all the interest and help.

Suggest you start a new thread (with a link to this one) on the Buckinghamshire board enquiring about what happened to Jane Buckland bp. 8 July 1821 in Burnham, Bucks to Thomas Buckland, labourer of Widmoor Common and his wife Jane.

This is really what you need to ascertain I think isn't it.

How sure are you that the Jane Buckland marrying in Marylebone is yours (the one bp in Burnham)?

Thanks Pheno.

I've already been down the Bucks route, as well as Berkshire where Jane was living in 1841. And yes, I'm sure this Jane married George Boxall in St Pancras in 1849.

After a bit more research, I also believe George was born in Brighton, and after the death of Jane in 1852, he married Harriet Clemens in 1855. In the 1861 Census he is listed as a Corporal in the Life Guards which leads me to believe he's the same George Boxall who is listed as a soldier on the marriage certificate with Jane.

I have found no children for Jane and George between 1849 and 1852. Perhaps Jane died in childbirth.
