read me?

hi, can anyone tell what this word is please, it should be a place name, probably staffordshire. ive had no luck trying to match it up. thanks.
Derbys - Hill, Atkins, Kirkland, Hutchinson, Hallam, Rose, Houseley, Astle.

Cant see any place in Staffordshire like that

Can we see a slightly bigger snippet, to get the context?

Are you sure it's a place-name? Could it be an occupation i.e. soldier?
As liz says, we need a bigger snip  :)

Wiki says it is an obsolete etymology for soldier.

ahhh.... i read it as (wedding resistration in uttoxeter 1699) edward millington OF 'souldios. ill re check, because i was assuming it was a place name not an occupation.

heres the full transcript. see what i mean? to me it reads "of" , suggesting he wasnt from the same parish as his bride katherine swan.
