Jane Neild abt. 1784
« on: Friday 23 February 18 19:06 GMT (UK) »
I'm looking for a Jane Neild born abt. 1784, who married Thomas Buckland in 1815 in Burnham, Bucks. She died in 1829 in Burnham.

I can't find anyone with this family name in the Bucks area, but notice that there were quite a few Neilds in and around Manchester at this time. I know it's a bit of a long shot, but perhaps she came from Lancashire or one of the surrounding counties.

Thanks Rosie.

Does this mean Thomas was widowed, or Jane?

This is the record I have from the Bucks Family History Society's Marriage database:

3 May 1815
Thomas X Buckland, Bachelor of this parish
Jane Nield, Spinster of this parish
Witnesses W Buckland, Elizabeth Buckland
by Licence

Are these both records of the same event transcribed differently?

Looks that way, though perhaps the one I have posted is the licence.  I read it that Jane is the spouse and therefore the one that was widowed

Seems like you need to see the original.
