Timothy Lee
« on: Sunday 25 February 18 16:11 GMT (UK) »
Hi all

I am trying trace Timothy Lee (My Gt Gt Gt Grandfather) back to into Ireland. This is what I have so far. I appreciate the birth dates may indicate that I don't have the same person in each census, however, I will say that the recording of the family's birth dates has proved fairly random. I have no knowledge of how to go about research in Ireland, so any advice would be appreciated. I'm looking for any records whatsoever.

Hello,

If Timothy is your 3x grandfather, who is your 2x grandparent?
They have no children with them in 1871 but a grandchild, John Coleman in 1881.
This would indicate a Lee daughter but the only birth I have found for John Coleman has a mmn of ‘Ravanaugh’ which is perhaps Kavanagh.
I was thinking it may be easier to find a baptism of their child in Ireland.

Hi

Thanks for coming back; this what I have with any degree of certainty. This in the marriage certificate of his son Michael:

19 Sep 1870
Michael Lee / 23 / Blaina/ Father Timothy Lee
Margaret Gibbon / 19 / Tredegar / Father William Gibbon

I can't make the church name out but was a catholic wedding in the district of Bedwelty.

The birth certificate of Michael and Margaret's daughter:

b. 20 Sep 1870
Father: Michael Lee / Cinder fitter (I think)
Mother: Margaret Lee

The address looks like Pond Row, Tredegar.

This family are really difficult to track :)

Thanks

David

They obviously had children.

Do you know how many?

Names?

Census or Marriage Ages? etc

Where born?

Both those censuses seem to be the same family based on address and neighbours.
What was Timothy’s occupation on Michael’s marriage certificate and who were the witnesses?
