Joseph Stevens - help with cleaning & colourisation

This is an image of my 2 x great grandfather taken I believe following his appointment as a Baptist Minister in 1878.

Would love to see this either as a cleaner B&W image or even better with colour.

I like them both Carol - certainly better than the poor B&W image - you definitely see more character in his face. I'm assuming the image is too poor a quality to add any colour to Joseph, his clothing etc?

Keith....when I have a couple of days to spare I might have a go  It's a great photo but there is a good couple of hours work at least on that one, but I'm sure there will be many others who will have a go too.
Just for information, Joseph's beard is known as a "Newgate Frill"
