Burials in Penrhyndeudraeth
« on: Monday 26 February 18 22:04 GMT (UK) »
Hi there new to the Welsh family search and struggling to find burials for an Ellis Roberts died 1935 and a Robert G Roberts died 1931 both in Penrhyndeudraeth. I have the death certs but can't find the burials. Any hints and tips greatly appreciated. Both have been added to their Mothers headstone in 1958 in Minffordd cemetery but can't find anything the year they both died. very confused as I have found another family members burial in Beddgelert but not the death cert!!
Thanks in advance
Nerys

Hi
According to GFHS M352 P.2, Block 3  A351 :
Robert G 1914-1931,  Ellis 1906-1935. Also Derrick Alun 25th March 2008, aged 75 yrs.
From FreeBMD
Deaths Dec 1931   (>99%)
Roberts    Robert G    17    Ffestiniog    11b   411

Deaths Dec 1935   (>99%)
Roberts    Ellis    29    Merioneth N.    11b   431

'Dec' means Oct/Nov/Dec - date of registration of the death.
From Oct 1935 Ffestiniog RD, minus the parts in Caernarvonshire, became Merioneth North.

Thanks Emyr. My next move was to work out when the boundaries changed as I seem to recall 1935 being a year that one or the other changed.  Makes sense just couldn't find the burials. It is a Thomas Roberts buried in St Mary's Beddgelert. buried 30th Nov 1935. aged 74 his adddress was Glangors or Glancors Penrhyn.
