Roche Family Wexford Johns Gate Street

Hi

I have pretty much completed my family tree.  My Grandfather born in Wexford 1899, John Christopher Roche moved to England and died at a young age, 44.  I believe a couple of his brothers also came England but the rest of the family as far as I know remained in Wexford. Our family never had any contact with the rest of the Roche family after his death.  I know my Great grandfather was Thomas Roche born 1870 and he married Mary Leary, they lived in what is now Mary's Bar 2 Johns Gate Street.  I have been in touch with the current owners and they know that the Roche family lived there prior to her family but is unable to help.  I am desperately trying to find any pictures of my family or make contact with any relatives.

as you say yout research is pretty much done,so no point adding to it,have you contacted the schools,archives  and churches in Wexford where your family lived,there may be class photographs of your grandfather and his siblings,what about the local newspaper they may be able to put out a request for further information on the family,

Yes I've looked been in touch with the sacristans at the Church of the immaculate conception, they  did find my Grandfathers birth etc. initially but when I asked them to look for the rest of the siblings, they said they couldn't find anything, I suspect they probably didn't really look as I had to contact them numerous times over a year.  I have searched the newspaper archives but no luck, unfortunately when I contacted the archives for the newspapers, they said I would need more information than I had and would be better visiting, however that is not an option imminently.  I had not thought of looking into the schools though, I'll follow that up.

Hi, many thanks, yes, I have found that information previously and  received all my Grandfathers information from the sacristans. I found siblings through the census but the sacristans could not help with the exact birth of the siblings.

Have you any connections with Roche in Liverpool - Garston and Speke areas ??...a lot of Roche family here

Not that I am aware of, but I guess it's possible, I've completed my tree as best as I can with regard to my grandfathers siblings, however work is still being done to find any of their children.
