« on: Friday 02 March 18 07:01 GMT (UK) »
William Trewartha, convicted Cornwall Assizes in 1839. Transported to Tasmania for 14 years. Convict register has him born about 1817. Convict notes has him dead in 1847. Tasmanian record says Native Place, Swansea-Wales
Anyone have a sure set of parents for him?

Yes, that was an earlier conviction,  the next one got him 14 years transportation.I have a rough idea who he could be, but no confirmation.
As he was not in the UK in 1841 no census records for him. died in 1847 so no luck there.

I am wondering if his parents are Peter and Persis Trewartha :-\

there is a John Treworthee baptised 29th May 1814 Llanfairarybryn,Carmarthen,Wales
parents Peter, a miner and Persis, so possibly William's brother.

Peter Trewartha marries Persis(Percies) Williams 14th July 1800 Gwenapp.

There is a Persis Trewartha death:
Age   55
Birth year:1782
Burial date:12 Feb 1837
Burial location:ST DAY
Residence   Crofthandy Cornwall

There are several possible deaths for a Peter Trewartha in Gwenapp.

My thoughts are that Peter went to Carmarthenshire to work, returned to Gwenapp sometime after the birth of John, and William could have been born in Carmarthenshire and returned to live in Gwenapp with his parents :-\

.
Thanks for that, I dont have any record of Welsh births to peter and Persis, Peter died in Gwennap aged 39. in  1818
Maybe william born there too? Is there any record of  Welsh birth for him?
I have 4 children for Peter/Persis 1801/1811, 5 when I add john.
1 emigrated to South Australia in 1847, the same year that William died?
