"Ellen"Evans Nee Jones Info.

I'm looking for some info re my Great.Great-Grandmother "Ellen" Jones who was born in Holywell Flintshire in 18144.She was baptised to parents John and Elizabeth Jones at Holywell St James 04.06/1815.She married an Isaac Evans at Holywell St James in 1836.Isaac died in 1860 in Bagillt Flintshire.

Though I'm unable to find her in the 1861 Census,in the 1871 Census she shows as Evans living at Gadlys Lane Bagillt with her eldest son John born in c 1838.In the 1881 Census again living at Gadlys Lane with John,she shows as "Ellen" Williams a Widow.I have been so far unsuccesful in searching for her Marriage to a Williams 1871-1881?

Searching in Flintshire 1871-1881 there are a few marriages.

Ellen in Wrexham - possible groom John Williams Dec 1872

Ellin in Chester - possible groom David Williams Mar 1878

Ellen in St Asaph - possible groom Robert White Williams Sep 1880

You will know best which district is closest to where she was living.

Have you got a death for her under Williams?  It might say widow of **

I see she still has son John with her in 1871 so possible they are together in 1861 also (but you've probably looked for that too)

Thanks for your replies.Other children born to the Evans' were Elizabeth(1841),Thomas(1843),Sarah(1845),Eleanor(1849? and Isaac1852-1855?).There is a possible death for Ellen in 1887 in the Holywell District but the birthyear is a little out.

If her age was right this might be her death under Evans.

Looking at the entry I'd say it was very probably correct.The only doubt possible is indeed the Surname in 1881?The death you gave also looks very possible under Evans.

As far as their children,Isaac and Ellen,the only one I've got no further info as yet is Sarah born in 1845.
