Hello,

The day has flown by  ;)

If all these people were the same family, there seems to be a mix of religious denominations. Did Isabella marry in a church?

Hello,

You're not wrong about the religious denomination mix. My Wilson's had 7 children and only 2 baptized RC, some I found in Church of Scotland records and a couple I don't know where bapt. including Charles (born Carlisle 1858). They had two girls die in Leeds but I couldn't find any parish burial records for them either.
I couldn't find a parish marriage for Isabella and Charles only the GRO record. Somehow my gt.Grandpa James Joss Wilson (immig. OZ) ended up RC but wife Anglican. My Grandma was bapt. 1884 Gorton Monastery Manchester.

Sorry, I can't help with that one. Makes finding parish records a bit hard as have to search through all denominations.

It would show the venue on the marriage certificate for Isabella.

It may be that those people are from two families both with James McD and Isabella Wright.

It would be good to find the Isabella who dies in 1891 census.

Charles and Isabella m. 28/9/1879.
Baby Alexander John William (?after William Gardner) Wilson born 28/8/1881 Alloa, Clackmannanshire
Scotland. Birth registered 10/10/1881 Chorlton by Isabella.

Baby Alexander adopted by Charles' sister Marjory T Harker nee Wilson and hubby Francis and brought up in Leeds. (on 1891 Census Whitley St, Armley but they took him with them age 5yrs to Boston (Francis for work) and returned. He stayed with them until Marjory's death 1906.

I have no idea what happened to Charles and Isabella. I can't find a death record for them anywhere in the world. Did find a death record for an Isabella Wilson 11/4/1882 age 20yrs South Shields Durham - a drowning in boat accident with another girl but she was identified by the mother living in South Shields so kind of discounted this record. The newspaper article made no mention of a hubby or baby.

This is why I'm so stuck and trying to find Isabella in a roundabout kind of way via family etc.

I originally thought the name Gardner may have been a maiden name of either her side of family until I found her with the Gardners on 1871 Census.

Isabella's address on her marriage record was 109 Hyde St.,Ardwick and Charles' address was 11 ?Molyneurs (really hard to read) St., Chorlton upon Medlock.
