Hammersmith & Fulham burials 1855-1865
« on: Thursday 08 March 18 12:00 GMT (UK) »

Hi, I am looking for two burials in Hammersmith one in 1855 & one in 1859.  The deceased lived in the St. Peter's Parish.  The last burial in St Peter's, according to the register, was May 15th 1855.  My lady died on the 27th May 1855, her Husband in 1859.  I've read the Guide to London Burials on this site and it would appear that Fulham Old Cemetery opened in 1865, Margavine in 1869, North Sheen not until 1909.  Neither of them are buried in All Souls Kensal Green, Hammersmith St Pauls was already closed.  Anyone know where Hammersmith deceased went between May 1855 & 1865.........!
Many thanks in advance for any help.

Hi, The 1855 burial is for Maria Heath, she died 27th May 1855 at 8 St. Peter's Place, Hammersmith.  The other might be her Husband - Thomas Heath registered death Sept. qtr 1859- but I do not have a certificate;  I have quite a lot of people who fall into this 10 year period.  Do you know where Hammersmith burials were at this time?  Many thanks

Thank you so much - I am surprised to see Black Lion Lane - she dies at St. Peter's Place.  May I ask where you found this? which index - I might be able to find a few more missing burials.  Thank you again, you're a star.

It came from the Greater London burial index on FindMyPast.  The abode should be her normal place of residence, the address on the death certificate was where she died. Ages at death are not shown.

The image can be seen on Ancestry of you have access.

She was 41

The seach doesn't find her so one of her names is mis-transcribed.

If you go to London Burials, select Hammersmith & Fulham from the borough box and St Marys West Kensington from the parish box, she on image 26 of 148 at the bottom.

Is it me or have Ancestry removed the date of death field from searches?

They have removed it. In effect, they have uploaded a marriage search form to the London deaths/burials database, showing spouse details, instead of a death search form. I have raised it with them three times in the last week, but have received no reply.
