Mary Gunning
« on: Monday 12 March 18 16:51 GMT (UK) »

My great x2 gran was Mary Gunning nee Snodden.Having recieved her husband's death certificate,I applied to the Registry Office for Mary's but it seems they are unable to find it.
On Ancestry it gives her death as being in 1896 in Caslereagh aged 74 but on Geneaology Ireland it gives a Mary Gunning dying in 1879 in Newtownards at the age of 70.That age isn't really right but it could had been a mistake as the age of 60 would be fine.
Please can anyone help me find her death date so I can order her death certificate which will also tell me her parent's names. Thank you

William Gunning is listed as widow and a shoemaker.

I can't make out where he is from

Neither Mary is showing as wife of a shoemaker

Is one of these the son you mention in the workhouse thread (assumed as they are shoe/bootmakers and I have found a marriage cert for David Gunning and Martha Gray, showing the father as William Gunning - Shoemaker)

Thank you for all your help I still dont really know when Mary died.I think I said before that I had 1896 in Castlereagh but the registry office couldn't find her death then. Her husband was William Gunning who died in the workhouse in 1898.David that someone mentioned, was William's brother, also a shoemaker.I don't know where to look to be able to get a death certificate for Mary.
