your man was 46980 Pte. Northumberland Fusiliers. discharged 28/11/18 for gunshot wounds.
Attested 18/10/15.
I'll see if I can find a Batt.

You need to look at March/April 1918.
This was the opening phase of Operation Michael aka the German Spring Offensive.
Their losses were so great they were reduced to a Cadre in May & went on to provide working parties & also provide training for the newly arrived US troops.
Although with wounded men it can be difficult to work out the timeline between the event & eventual discharge it can be measured in months so being wounded during these 2 months makes sense.
I've looked at the diary & know exactly where they were over that 3 day period before being relieved if you need it.
