Mmm ... have a possible 1908 voyage to New Zealand for a Mr and Mrs RABBITT and infant -though not totally convinced yet it is correct family.    ???
Unfortunately there seems to be a fault at present with accessing records at FamilySearch ... will try again later for further info.   [Arrival / shipping records at NZ end haven't yielded anything so far for surname. ]

Birth notice - son born to Mr and Mrs M. P. PLAYER :

https://paperspast.natlib.govt.nz/newspapers/EP19360226.2.2

Sadly this son, John Preston PLAYER, died aged 3 days.  [Headstone says 3 days - cemetery record says incorrectly, 3 years. ]

https://wellington.govt.nz/services/community-and-culture/cemeteries/cemeteries-search/details?id=47067&serviceType=Burial&previousPage=%2fservices%2fcom

Haven't to date found any further children for this couple.

I have just found that James Edward Rabbitt who married in 1903 Leicestershire UK to an Ada either Barrowcliff or Marriott moved to New Zealand somewhere between 1903 and 1911.

In the wedding report of Evelyn RABBITT to Mervyn PLAYER (see earlier reference Reply #   ),
a Mrs MARRIOTT sen. and an S. MARRIOTT, are mentioned.

It seems that Ada RABBITT's parents and some of her siblings (MARRIOTT) also came to New Zealand.

UK Census 1901  - @ 19 Edwyn Street - Leicester
MARRIOTT
- John - 44 - shoe trade (Boot ??) - worker - b. Northampton
- Eliza - wife - 40 - b. Leicester
- Ada - dau - 20 - shoe trade
- Stephen - son - 18 - shoe trade
- Jenny ? (looks like) - dau - 13 - shoe trade
- Lilly - dau - 9
- Fergusson - son - aged 1 yr.                  {   all children born Leicester   }

MARRIOTT - Eliza (married)  / Stephen / Lilian (Lilly) / and  Fergusson - are still at Edwyn Street in  1911.
John MARRIOTT the husband/father is not with them.

NZ Electoral

1914 - Wellington South electoral roll
MARRIOTT - John - 111 Ohiro Road, Brooklyn - benchman*

[* Benchman - has to do with boot/shoe making trade. ]

In 1919 - Eliza MARRIOTT is with John at the above address.
Possible that John went ahead of his family of New Zealand ?  [ Maybe WW1 prevented family from joining him until a later date ?    I haven't checked for his arrival.  ]

1928 - Taranaki - Patea roll
MARRIOTT - John - bootmaker - with Eliza - at Main Road, Waverley
MARRIOTT - Stephen - bootmaker - with his wife Alice - at Chester Street, Waverley (this is Ada's brother).
Eliza MARRIOTT is also on 1928 Wellington South supplementary e/roll which suggests she returned to live in Wellington in that year.
