Hoping someone here can helps us with a brick wall. My g grandfather, Henry King (b. Aug 29,1875 in Wilts) appears to have "remarried" in Tavistock on August 6, 1921, around about the time my g grandmother, and his first family, left Wiltshire for Inverness. Family lore had it that he died, although that might have been a cover for a separation/divorce (no evidence of that has been located yet!).
His new wife was Maude Mary Raymond, twenty years his junior. Presumably they met at Meavy House, which is where they are both listed as living on the marriage certificate, he was a groom/gardener, she a domestic servant.
They appear to have gone on to have six children between 1922 and 1930. He also seems to be with her in Tavistock on the 1939 register, along with their son Albert. After that we lose him. If anyone has him in their tree and knows what happened next, we'd love to know how his story ended! He's been leading us a merry dance
