If you need help please can you give more information - date and place of birth would help for a start (please don't give any information for people still living).

My father was John Charles Redgate (deceased)  born 13.07.37 Icing Green Nottingham.  His father was Charles Kershaw Redgate.who married a lady called Gladys who was adopted.  They also had three daughters Maureen Joyce (deceased) and Carol. This is all the information I have unfortunately.

Yes there are also three younger sisters (J in 1940, M in 1945, C in 1954) registered in Hampshire rather than Nottingham.

So he was John rather than Charles?

Yes, avm - according to the free 1939 he was John born 1901.

Yes he was much older than Gladys.  I suspect he had been married before, to Barbara E Sargent in Nottingham in 1929.

She died as Barbara Ellen Redgate in Nottingham in Dec qtr 1932, aged 29.
