Have I reached the end of the line?
« on: Tuesday 27 March 18 13:57 BST (UK) »
I have traced my ancestors back to Patrick Horn born in Dysart abt 1598, married to Janet Brown of Dysart Born 1602. Their son George was born in Dysart 1627  and married Jonat Cruickshanke also Dysart in 1643.
Any additional info will be much aooreciated....... Thanks

If they were a noble or upper class family the you maybe able to find a published genealogy. In the 19th century many reliable books were published detailing genealogies of many noble Scottish families detailing them back to the medi-eval period and many of them are available online.

Church registers on SP begin 1553 and there are a number of records for Horn/Horne such as the one below, which is unlikely but not impossible.

PATRICK HORNE18/02/1610 Clackmannan, parents GILBERT HORNE & NANCE DRYSDELL

There are a couple of John Horn’s born Dysart 1592 & 1595 father Robert.

I looks like Patrick’s eldest son was Robert born 1625?

So maybe Patrick was born there but the record has not survived or may not be clear?

It may be possible to find further information at the Local History Library, plenty of resources noted for Dysart on http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/sct/FIF/Dysart
