Canadian Expeditionary Force WW1
« on: Friday 30 March 18 15:15 BST (UK) »
I'm researching my great grandfather Edward Boyce ( born 1886 in Leicestershire, England ) he emigrated to Canada in approx 1911.

I believe he may have joined the Canadian Expeditionary Force, how could I found out if he actually served in WW1 in France ? I have no other details.

If anyone can help me please ?

Hi
Welcome to Rootschat  :)
Ancestry.co.uk have free records this weekend
https://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin/sse.dll?gl=39&gss=angs-c&new=1&rank=1&msT=1&gsfn=edward&gsfn_x=0&gsln=boyce&gsln_x=0&msbdy=1886&gskw=canada&cpxt=1&cp=3&MSAV=1&uidh=z63

There is a record for an Edward Boyce born 1887 Leicestershire in CEF, wife Hilda.
You may or may not have to register to get record, not sure about that

Thanks for the information, there's a lot to absorb.

I can see he went to France in March 1918 with the CMG Corps - can I trace where he went & if he saw active service ?
