Samuel Marshall aged 31 of 79 Fowler Street married Mary Ann Kaye a widow aged 41of 27 Fowler Street, in Sheffield Cathedral on 23 December 1894. His father Samuel Marshall her father William Dyche (deceased). Witnesses John James and Betsy Gabbitas

Surname certainly looks like Raye - father given as William Dyche (deceased), Quarryman.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Mary Ann was born out of wedlock as was her daughter Emily Hague. Mary Ann didn't waste any time in re-marrying after each of her husbands died!

I've found all the census forms for Mary Ann Haigh/Hague, b. 1845, except the 1861 census but I cannot find her anywhere. Is it possible to find her for this year? Mainly lived at Bolsterstone, Deepcar. Mary Ann had a daughter Emily Hague born 1866.

Hello Emelton, after searching for the whereabouts of Mary Ann in 1861 for some time now and thinking she'd disappeared off the face of the earth and knowing she spent some time in the Sheffield area you've found her. May I thank you and all the other website contributers in helping me with information regarding Mary Ann. I was told she kept pigs in later life and lived on Bacon Row, Deepcar!
