David Childs Haszell was born and died in 1866. Florence born in 1876 married and had a couple of kids. Ethel Haszell as you say stayed with them presumably after the death of her mum, Richard Haszells wife in 1901. Ethel is on 1911 census too. But I cannot find Florence Adelaide Haszells birth, just noted as 1876 Middlesex on 81,88,01 and 11 census.
I've tried Taylor, nothing. There is a Florence Adelaide Fisher 1875, which is Fannys mums name but the maiden name is Charman.

They lead complicated lives these victorians, might post it up as another Haszell mystery.

Ooh I must have missed this first time round. Florence was brought up as Florence Haszell because she used Haszell as maiden name when registering her children. So Mr Hartford has slunk into the picture. I don't know...What tangled webs we weave..!
Joseph is obviously very much out of the picture and making a new life with Deborah. I had this picture of him nipping home now and then to toast his crumpets but obviously not. A disastrous first marriage then, shotgun at the start, Dad wouldn't let them live together, a sad death of second child and that was that!

Thanks so much everyone.

Postscript:
I have found a marriage between Richard John Harford and Fanny Taylor, 1887 in Fulham.
He was born in Birmingham 1854.
Fanny was living on an income from a dwelling house from 1893 when her father died. He was a retired butcher and seemed to have done okay.
Richard is in the same business, having a dwelling house in Fulham. Both are on the London Electoral Register at this time.
Is he the mysterious Mr. Hartford I wonder, Florences dad, all rippling muscular shirts and rent books! Florence never used the name Harford, marrying as Florence Haszell. I wonder if she ever knew.
Rounds of the story nicely I think.
