Her birth certificate would give her parent/s name/s or her marriage certificate might indicate father's names

This is the reference from the GRO indexes which give mother's maiden name but Elizabeth's is blank indicating possibly illegitimate

Thank you    i always thought it was her husband James who was born illegitimate. I haven't found her on the 1861 census

I'm not sure about Mary its Margaret's family i'm trying to find as she was my great grandmother  i was told the sisters was born in leigh in 1887 and 1889
