Trying to find a connection to my cowen side of the family,my4 times great grandfather Thomas Cowen born july 14th 1788 his father Peter Cowen mother Elizabeth Bell I'm trying to find if Thomas had any siblings? such as John Cowen who is Joseph Cowen father and grandfather to Sir Joseph Cowen?   Thomas married Esther Frost 1811 they had 8 children.

There are several Thomas Cowens born in UK about 1788, which one is yours? Locations needed!

Sir Joseph Cowen is a well known figure around here (Newcastle my home town and Ryton in Co. Durham where my ancestors came from.)

The County Durham section of Rootschat will be useful to you as that's where the famous Cowens came from.

oops forgot to put place details Thomas Cowen born beeford Driffield 1788 died 1863 driffield had a son John richard cowen,grandson Thomas clark Cowen who were journalist.
