Hi again Steve

I forgot to ask previously, who was the informant on Ann's death certificate - could that provide any clues to finding her in 1871?

Ok the informant was her sister Hannah Levi and on the death cert was given as of 3 Handleys Place where Ann died. On the 1871 Hannah, husband Davis and 3 kids living at 37 Fawcett St, but no sign of Ann.

She's certainly proving tricky to find - I was hoping she'd moved in with a new man & he, or a relative, was the informant.

That would have been far too easy of course, and I'm sure you'd already have found her if that was the case.

The chap in New York ticks an awful lot of the boxes but I'm not sure how you would get to see the full Naturalisation record, or even what information it would contain.  Perhaps an enquiry on the Unites States board might provide some guidance on that.

MORGAN: Glamorgan, Durham, Ohio. DAVIS/DAVIES/DAVID: Glamorgan, Ohio.  GIBSON: Leicestershire, Durham, North Yorkshire.  RAIN/RAINE: Cumberland.  TAYLOR: North Yorks. BOURDAS: North Yorks. JEFFREYS: Worcestershire & Northumberland. FORBES: Berwickshire, CHEESMOND: Durham/Northumberland. WINTER: Durham/Northumberland. SNOWBALL: Durham.

The enquiry 're the naturalization record for Charles Henning bore no fruit, there is no more information.

Still not found wife Ann Henning on the 1871 census and now it turns out that who I had thought was son William  Robert is not, so now the whole family are unfound on the 1871 census...... Charles, Ann and son William Robert.......
