Ann Pearsall parents?
« on: Monday 09 April 18 20:05 BST (UK) »
Hi
Im wondering if anyone can help me with a baptism for my 7th grt grandmother Ann Pearsall.
She marries James Hurley 7 Aug 1768 Halesowen, Worcestershire.
I previously had her baptism as  -
Ann Pearsall/Pursall bapt 12 Apr 1751 Halesowen. Parents - Thomas and Elizabeth.
I'm not sure if this is correct as there is a burial for a Ann Pearsall 1770 Halesowen and im not sure who this is.
But there is a pedigree on FamilySearch (I'm taking this with a grain of salt) which lists Ann as being bapt 26 June 1748 Halesowen. Parents Thomas and Sarah.
I can see no record of this baptism or any bapts for these set of parents apart from a burial of a Daughter Ann Pearsall 27 Apr 1742 Halesowen.
Any help would be appreciated in finding the correct bapt.
I know the halesowen area is between counties but I've looked into Shropshire/Staffordshire and the only one which seems to be a possibility is the 1751 bapt.

Hi
Thank you very much for this.
So it seems the baptism for 'Ann' 1748 is actually Nancy and a different set of parents. Not sure why it has been listed as such on that pedigree and glad I took it with a grain of salt.
I take it the burial for Ann Pearsall 1770 doesnt list whether infant of not?
I wonder If Thomas Pursell/Pearsall who maries Elizabeth is the same Thomas who is married to Sarah?
The Ann who is bapt 1741 to Thomas and Sarah dies in 1742 and I can see no other baptisms for this pair on FindMyPast or FreeReg.

There is a baptism in Halesowen for a Thomas Pearsall 11 Apr 1719, Son of William and Elizabeth.
Which would make him 31 when he married Elizabeth Smith so possible to be a widow.
This Thomas's parents look to be the William Pearsall and Elizabeth Crump who marry 26 Nov 1711 Kidderminster

Although I think the Thomas who marries Elizabeth Smith is possibly the Thomas Pearsall bapt 29 Jul 1725 Rowley Regis, Staff son of John Pearsall and Hannah Woodhouse. As this Thomas has 2 children called John and Hannah which could be named after his parents.
John Pearsall marries Hannah Woodhouse 6 Feb 1708/09 Rowley Regis.
