Joseph Samuel FORD

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to find information regarding Joseph Samuel FORD and his wife Olive Margaret Ann. They were married 1965 in Australia before moving to America as that is where Joseph was from.

I know Joseph was born 1927 in Houston, Texas and died in 1997 and where he is buried but I'm hoping to find Olive and if they had any children as I am related to Olive through her mums side of the family.

Don't think we are ignoring your enquiry.  Sorry I haven't found anything so far.   :'( Keep having a look but nothing comes to light.

Is he the Joseph S. Ford who died in Contra Costa, CA and is buried in the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery?  The cemetery has a website - you might contact them for possible family info.

Another possibility might be city directories for Contra Costa after 1997 if they exist.

I searched on newslibrary.com - http://www.rootschat.com/links/01lw7/ - for "Joseph S. Ford" in California and limited it to July 1997 and one result came up in the West Coast Times, which seems to be in the Contra Costa area.  It's pay per view to see the obituary.  The same result came up on obitsarchive.com, which is a pay per view or subscription site.

Nov. 3, 1927 July 16, 1997

Joseph S. Ford, a seaman in the merchant marines for 40 years in San Francisco, died Wednesday in a San Pablo convalescent hospital. He was 69.

The Sommers, Texas, native was a 47-year resident of San Pablo.

Services: None. Burial will be at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella.

Wilson & Kratzer Mortuaries in San Pablo handled arrangements.

Doesn't sound like his wife was about in 1997 - divorced or deceased?

Since 40 years in San Francisco are mentioned, city directories there may be a good start:

I can see a few possibles:
1959, Jos Ford, seaman, lived at Hudson Av, with Clara
1960, Joe S. Ford, seaman lived at Bridgewater Dr, with Carrie
1961, Joe S Ford,  seaman, Bridgewater Dr, with Carrie
1962, no sign
