Ruth Hicks

Could the wonderful people of Rootschat help me with Ruth Hicks?

Birth registered September quarter 1838, to George Hicks and Mary (nee Monk), and baptised in July 1838 at Oldland St Anne.

Part of the problem is that there is another Ruth Hicks born in 1838, to Daniel and Elizabeth.

I definitely have my Ruth in the 1841 and 1851 census, with George and Mary and siblings
1841 HO107/361/14/40 Page 19
1851 HO107/1944/71 Page 37

There’s a possibility for her in 1861, but equally this could be the other Ruth. She’s a servant, whichever one it is, at Bitton vicarage with the Ellacombe family.

I’ve found no marriage that I am happy is for her, and no death under the name Ruth Hicks.

Any suggestions welcome.

Thanks
Lisa

Have you already ruled out the 1865 marriage in Gloucs?

EDIT - ignore - it's on FS and her father was Edmund

Try and find the married Ruth (or Ruths) in later census records, to see if they name any children after their fathers. Not proving beyond all doubt, but it points you in the right direction.
I am Australian, from all the lands I come (my ancestors, at least!)

Pine/Pyne, Dowdeswell, Kempster, Sando/Sandoe/Sandow, Nancarrow, Hounslow, Youatt, Richardson, Jarmyn, Oxlade, Coad, Kelsey, Crampton, Lindner, Pittaway, and too many others to name.
Devon, Dorset, Gloucs, Cornwall, Warwickshire, Bucks, Oxfordshire, Wilts, Germany, Sweden, and of course London, to name a few.
